Surgical Care for All: Transforming Lives Together through the G4 Alliance
A new approach to improve the quality of millions of people's surgical, obstetric, trauma, and anesthesia care
Imagine a world where millions in low- and middle-income (LMICs) countries can access quality surgical, obstetric, trauma, and anesthesia care. G4 Alliance is doing its best to make this dream come true by developing the Operative Encounter Registry and the Community of Practice. These patient-centered, data-driven, and locally-led transformative projects will change healthcare delivery in resource-poor settings. The OER is a digital software platform that facilitates the routine collection of standardized surgical patient data, enabling providers to identify improvement opportunities and make informed decisions. The CoP is a network of health professionals, advocates, and corporate managers that interprets the data and provides technical support to the LMICs hospitals where necessary so that they can assume responsibility for implementing quality improvements.
In 2024, the G4 Alliance signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the WHO to pilot the OER and create a CoP. In 2025, we planned to scale up this system through a series of pilots in various hospitals across LMICs, demonstrating effectiveness for wide-scale adoption of OER and CoP in improving healthcare outcomes. Your support is invaluable in realizing that vision; we invite you on this journey to a future where quality surgical care can be available to millions of patients worldwide.Â
Data-driven advocacy to promote policies that improve the quality of surgical, obstetric, trauma, and anesthesia in low and middle-income countries.
The G4 Alliance has developed a new advocacy method to promote policies that will improve surgical, obstetric, trauma, and anesthesia care for millions of patients, using the power of data-driven approaches to create real change. The Operative Encounter Registry (OER) will provide much-needed insights into surgical care within low- and middle-income countries, creating opportunities for us to identify areas of need and then track improvement over time. Our Community of Practice (CoP) will work with advocates on the ground, empowering them with data and evidence-based analyses that can be used to advocate for implementing policy actions that realize better health outcomes. G4 Alliance will work with advocates in various countries to promote the most efficient and effective way to allocate and spend the scarce SOTA care resources, for example, by illustrating the best returns on investment in healthcare.
Your support will allow us to scale up the OER and CoP, amplifying the voices of local advocates and driving real change in healthcare systems. Let us together work towards a future where health care becomes a right of all people and not a privilege for a few. Join this revolutionary journey of creating a better life for millions of people across the globe by putting data to positive use.Â
