Stephanie Murphy has significant experience in the accounting field, including nonprofit financial management both on staff as well as on Boards. Ms. Murphy joined the G4 Alliance Board of Directors in May 2025.

Ms. Murphy is a Senior Financial Planner with Apella Wealth in Reston, Virginia. Ms. Murphy holds a Master’sDegree in Public Administration with a concentration in Nonprofit Management from George Mason University, where she was also awarded her BS in Accounting.

From 2007 to 2018, Ms. Murphy served as the Chief Financial Officer for a national trade association.  From 2000 to 2004, Ms. Murphy was Chief Financial Officer for Global Impact, a federation of America’s leading humanitarian agencies. Prior to her tenure with Global Impact, Ms. Murphy served as Vice President of Finance and Administration for the National Parks Conservation Association and as the Director of Finance for the East Coast Migrant Head Start Project. She has also served as Audit Manager and Senior Accountant for a major public accounting firm.

Ms. Murphy has served on several nonprofit boards including 20 years with Health Volunteers Overseas.  In addition to her volunteer work with HVO, Ms. Murphy has been the volunteer treasurer for her local civic association, her son’s boy scout troop and a local philharmonic organization.
